At Crew Card, we’re always looking to make rostering more intuitive, insightful and efficient. Our latest update brings powerful new enhancements to the Graph Page, offering users more control and deeper visibility over crew availability, unassigned shifts and workload distribution.
Here’s what’s new:

Crew Groups Multi-Select: Smarter Filtering
Previously, users could only filter the graph by one crew group at a time. That’s now a thing of the past.
With multi-select checkboxes added to the Crew Groups filter, users can now select multiple crew groups simultaneously. This enhancement makes it easier than ever to:
- Compare crew allocation across different departments or categories
- Identify coverage gaps and overlaps
- Generate comprehensive views for reporting or decision-making
Simply tick the groups you want to include and the graph will update accordingly.

Editable Shifts on the Graph Page
The flyover now has an edit button to edit shifts directly from the Graphs Page. Once clicked a new popup appears called the “Edit Shift Bar”.
How to Edit a Shift:
- Hover your mouse over a shift bar on the graph
- Click the Edit button
- Make changes to the editable fields
When in Edit mode, the button will switch to Save, allowing you to confirm your updates quickly and efficiently. This feature helps you make small tweaks on the fly without navigating away from the graph.
Within the “Edit Shifts Bar” Popup, we have implemented new ways to fill shifts faster.
- Drag and Drop Functionality – Easily drag and drop a crew member from the list on the right into the name field (Top left of the edit shift bar)
Double Click a crew member in the crew panel located on the right-hand list to assign them.
Fine-Tuned Editing:
We’ve also improved how you stretch start or end times on the shift bars:
- Regular stretch adjusts time in 5-minutes increments
- Hold Shift while stretching to fine-tune in 1-minute increments

Pop-up After Edit: Message / Save Options
To smoothen your workflow even further, we’ve redesigned the pop-up that appears after editing a shift.
Here’s how it works:
- If a crew member is already assigned to the shift, the Edit Flyover now leads to a cleaner, more intuitive pop-up where you can:
- Save the changes
- Optionally send a message to notify the assigned crew member
- Save the changes
This redesign keeps everything in one place and ensures communication is clear and fast.

New "Display By" Options on the Graph
To offer even more flexibility, we’ve introduced a new dropdown labelled Display By. It allows users to toggle between additional visual insights:
Show Unassigned Jobs
When this option is enabled, a new section appears on the left side of the graph, listing all Activities with shifts that don’t yet have a confirmed crew.
On the right side, the graph bars for these unassigned shifts will be aligned accordingly, making it crystal clear where coverage is still needed.
Show Unassigned Crew
Want to know who’s available but hasn’t been rostered? This setting displays a list of crew members with no assigned shifts for the selected date range (and filtered Crew Groups). It’s a handy tool for matching idle resources to open shifts.
Show Unavailable Crew (Existing Feature)
This remains unchanged but rounds out the trio for visualising crew status comprehensively.
Info Icon: At-a-Glance Crew Stats
Each crew member on the graph now features a subtle info icon (ℹ️) beside their name. Click or hover over it to view:
- Total Hours Worked
- Total Shifts Assigned
- Consecutive Days Worked
About Consecutive Days
This stat follows the Per Pay Week Method set in your Settings. It doesn’t rely on the selected graph range but instead uses the current pay period (weekly or fortnightly) to calculate the maximum number of consecutive days worked.
Example Scenarios:
- Weekly Pay (Mon–Sun): Crew worked Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat, Sun → Max consecutive = 3 (Fri–Sun)
- Fortnightly Pay: Crew worked Fri–Sun in week 1, Mon–Tue in week 2 → Max consecutive = 5
This ensures compliance and helps identify fatigue risks or overuse at a glance.

Customise the Graph Display in General Settings
We’ve added new options in General Settings to further tailor your graph experience:
Colour Customisation
You can now define custom colours using hex codes for:
- Unassigned Shifts
- Unassigned Crew
This makes your graph more readable and aligns with your preferred visual themes.
Toggle Job Numbers on Graph Bars
Enable or disable Job Numbers on shift bars with a simple tick box. This is useful if you prefer a cleaner graph or only want to see specific identifiers when hovering over shifts.
These enhancements aim to give you deeper insight, better flexibility and smoother control over your workforce planning — right from the graph interface.
Keep an eye out for info icons throughout the software; they often include helpful tips to guide you.
