Make Busy Schedules Easier to Read in CrewCard Graph View

A busy schedule can contain several jobs, shifts and crew members. As a result, it can take more time to find the job you're looking for.

With Unique Job Colours, CrewCard makes it easier to distinguish one job from another in Graph View. Each job can have its own colour, so the schedule is easier to scan.

You can let CrewCard assign colours automatically or choose a colour for a specific Job Sheet. This gives your team more control without adding extra steps to everyday scheduling work.

A Different Colour for Each Job

When automatic job colours are enabled, CrewCard assigns different colours to jobs within the same month.

Automatically assigned colours do not repeat during that month. However, a colour may be used again in a different month.

Job A

Job B

A different colour

Job C

Another distinct colour

The colours shown above are examples only.

Example: A job in October may receive a blue colour. Another job in October receives a different automatic colour. In November, blue may be used again for another job.

Choose a Custom Colour for a Job Sheet

Sometimes, you may want a particular job to appear in a specific colour. For example, you might prefer to keep a certain Job Sheet easy to recognise whenever you view the schedule.

CrewCard lets you select a custom colour for an individual Job Sheet. Once selected, that colour takes priority over the colour configured in Settings or assigned automatically.

If you later remove the custom colour, CrewCard returns to the applicable Settings or automatic colour logic.

How Job Sheet Colour Overrides Work

The feature follows a simple rule: a custom Job Sheet colour takes priority. Otherwise, CrewCard uses the applicable Settings or automatic colour.

01

Custom Colour Selected

If a Job Sheet has a custom colour, Graph View displays that colour for the job.

02

No Custom Colour

If no colour is selected, CrewCard uses the applicable Settings or automatic colour logic instead.

Good to know: The colour belongs to the Job Sheet, not the individual shift. So, when you select a shift, CrewCard identifies its linked Job Sheet for colour selection.

Set Job Sheet Colours from Different Pages

You don't have to return to one page to manage Job Sheet colours. The Set JobSheet Graph Colour action is available in several parts of CrewCard.

Shifts Page

Select a shift, then choose Set JobSheet Graph Colour from the Actions menu.

Shift Edit

Manage the linked Job Sheet colour while editing a shift.

Job Sheet Page

Open Options and select Set JobSheet Graph Colour.

Events Booking

Access the colour action while working with an event booking.

Timesheets Page

Select the relevant shift entry and use the Options menu to update its linked Job Sheet colour.

The same Job Sheet colour is then used in Graph View, regardless of which supported page you used to set it.

Enable Unique Job Colours in General Settings

The automatic job colour feature is controlled through General Settings. The setting is called Set JobSheet Graph Colour and is OFF by default.

To use automatic job colours, administrators can switch the setting to ON and save their changes. CrewCard can then assign different automatic colours to jobs within the same month.

You can still use custom Job Sheet colours where required, and those selections take priority over the automatic colours.

A Clearer Schedule with CrewCard Graph View

Unique Job Colours help make CrewCard Graph View easier to navigate, especially when your team is managing several jobs at once.

Automatic colours make jobs easier to distinguish, while custom Job Sheet colours give administrators more control over how they appear.

With the colour action available across several pages, your team can make changes while carrying out its usual scheduling work.
